Live links protocol
These protocols provide a national framework of guidance setting out the roles and responsibilities of each agency or organisation, during the criminal trial process, for the different types of live link.
Criminal Procedure and Evidence Circulars
These circulars notify CJS practitioners (including the judiciary) of newly implemented legislation, new guidance and other changes concerning criminal procedure and evidence.
The Criminal Casework Management Framework
The Criminal Case Management Framework is a step by step guide for participants in the criminal justice process. It sets out best practice in case management so that cases are prepared and conducted appropriately, in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Rules and brought to a conclusion efficiently and with the minimum of delay.
Magistrates Court
Part 1 of the framework was published on 26th July 2007 and deals with the entire process for adult cases in the magistrates' courts, from pre-charge through to conclusion.
Crown Court
Part 2 of the framework published on 18th January 2008. It covers the process for adult cases in the Crown Court from pre-court through to the conclusion. It also deals with appeals from the magistrates' court.
