Cross-CJS alignment

This strategy development work aims to provide the means to co-ordinate initiatives across the CJS, to ensure the capacity and the resources are available to cope with the demands placed on it. Content will be available shortly.

Exchange links

The Exchange links programme provides high-speed, secure links between the existing case management systems across the CJS, which allow criminal justice agencies to share common, up-to-date case information. It links the police, the Crown Prosecution Service, the Crown Court, the magistrates' courts, prisons and probation as well as other agencies and partner organisations. Content will be available shortly.

Postal charging and requisitions

Postal charging is a new simpler and quicker way for the police and other public prosecutors to get offenders to court for further prosecution by replacing the summons process. Content will be available shortly.

Prisons to Courts Video Links

This initiative aims to maximise the use of prison to court video links, whenever appropriate, by providing best practice guidance to areas. Content will be available shortly.

PROGRESS

This application assists court personnel with the logging and tracking of directions and orders in not-guilty pleas. It also provides direct secure access for defence solicitors.

Secure eMail

Secure eMail allows independent practitioners, such as solicitors, barristers, and victim and witness organisations to exchange sensitive criminal justice information both between each other and across criminal justice agencies.

Virtual Courts

Virtual Courts allow a defendant charged in a police custody suite to appear in a magistrates' court for a first hearing by means of a video link while physically located in the police station.
