Deterring young offenders (DYO)
This guidance will support Local Criminal Justice Boards in implementing the Deter Young Offender (DYO) Scheme. The initiative seeks to tackle re-offending among young offenders who pose the highest risk of re-offending and causing serious harm to others at an early stage.

Persistent young offenders (PYO): Effective practice
This report provides findings from a case study on effective practice with regard to delivery of the PYO Pledge, carried out in Merseyside and West Yorkshire in October 2006. It summarises effective practice in terms of six criteria: identification; prioritisation; case management, review and progression; non attendance and warrant management; governance; and performance management.
